This is Maddy or Madaly as she was to be called. She was named after a very important mare in her mother’s life.. Madalayne King was the dam of Tally Moon…Tally just left this world 3 months ago at 33 yrs. And her 3 foals are all winning barrel horses and are producers of winners!
Maddy loves horses and has trained several minnies and her own barrel horse Rifle.. She just turned 12… we will be seeing more of her in the future.. Madalyn Chambers… Remember that name..
Until we meet again..

It was a very windy day to put up fence and move cows to a different corn stalk circle. There are 3 early calves… very early… 6 weeks early… a set of twins on a heifer even. Danielle has been helping friends with their ranch. The man hasn’t been well for awhile. He was diagnosed with the big C in August… a bull obviously snuck in with the girls! The wind makes everything and everyone on edge… this bunch was extra lively.
My friend Dixon is getting more relaxed, but he doesn’t like when I leave the room and follows me. He has got to have abandonment anxiety.. it’s heart warming to see his progress on feeling at home.. And not “marking” my couch… but he still has to sleep in his room when I’m not home… Happy Sunday!
Well I have really been missing having a cat. I’ve had several in the past 5 years… 2 Bengals that weren’t able to have kittens, so the breeder had them spayed and I adopted them. For those not knowing anything about the breed, they are not your usual cat. They love water and can be found playing in the water bowl. Odessa and Arizona were their names. I found 3 young cats at the farm shop where I was employed . All males. A Siamese I called Squeek… He squeeked when I picked him
up. Tripper …. He couldn’t be in the house, he didn’t use the box.. And Jasper a starving scared feral youngster that was wild… but turned into an awesome family member. They all dissapeared .. I’m thinking coyotes … Damn coyotes! I loved them all ! I adopted Dixon New years day. He was classified a stray @ the North Platte animal shelter, he’s an adult nuetered declawed Siamese and very handsome.
He was not feeling well for the first couple days. But he’s doing better today. But he seems to have behavioral issues… He uses the box if he is confined to a small room.. I.e. the bathroom.. but He left a wet spot on my bed and my couch… in my spot… is it his way of trying to establish dominance… or just that it’s a soft spot and doesn’t bother his declawed paws… so as it is now he is in time out until I can watch him the whole time he’s out.. someone suggested may a uti… we will see with time. I’m wanting him to be able to hang out with me and look out the window.. Time will tell.. : )
2013 is coming to a close. Thank goodness! It was full of many lessons. Now on to 2014! The year of the horse! Awesome! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Trigger and Danielle. 1987
Danielle’s first rodeo @ Fraser on Trigger. She just celebrated her fifth birthday, TRIGGER was 21. They won the pole bending. It filled my heart and brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat… They were awesome together. That was 26 years ago and she makes me proud like that everyday!
2 of my favorite memories of Thumper
We were having Thanksgiving dinner @ the Baker ranch by Akron, Co. And Karen tells us that she was told by a meteorologist friend that there was a cold front coming from Canada in a week or 2 , with the coldest temperatures we have had in 100 years! And it would last for about a week! WTH! He was spot on! But good news is…. 40’s by next Wednesday. It’ll seem like summer….. : )
So New years eve is tomorrow and time for a new chapter to begin. This year has closed some doors… Dally dog and Thumper passing on. My daughter moving home.. for her new life to begin… New awakenings of things to come. Everything is energy… learning to redirect it to the positive and prosperous will be an amazing adventure!! It starts TODAY!! I am prosperous and positive…. Happy New Year!!
